The Importance of Clean Water

Can you imagine what it would look like to not have clean water easily accessible in your home? Most homes in the United States have faucets and other sources all over the house, all with clean water running through them. It can be difficult for those of us who have so much to understand how difficult it is for so many around the world to access clean water. According to WHO, 785 million people globally still lack access to clean water. 144 million of these people are dependent on surface water.

Clean water is one of the most significant physical needs among the Nepalese and India people that we serve. In Nepal, UNICEF estimates that only 25% of the water supply is working. In India, UNICEF estimates that less than 50% of the population has access to safe drinking water. Everyday children are dying of preventable diseases caused by poor water and a lack of sanitation and hygiene.

We at Quenched are looking to change this. We exist to bring clean water and the gospel to unreached peoples, those who have never heard of Jesus. We partner with local pastors who identify needs of clean water and have a new well drilled and installed. People who used to walk up to miles each day in order to get water now have a water well in their village or at their home. After the well is complete, we celebrate with a well dedication ceremony. At this celebration, the pastor will share the Living Water of Jesus and begin to build relationships with the community.

All of this sounds great, but what does this look like practically? To help you understand the physical and spiritual impact of our work, we have a free resource just for you. We have a completed project report that will show you an actual family or community who went through this process, and allow you to see the impact the well had on their lives. This is the same report we send to donors who sponsor a well.

To receive your free well report, please fill out the contact us section below and you will receive it within 24 hours.
