An important word about Nepal by Matt MacLean, President & Founder of Quenched

Quenched has spent years building a network of pastors across Nepal. That network is now carrying relief into communities that lost everything.

What happened in northern Nepal

Flooding across northern Nepal on August 26, 2026 has damaged homes, destroyed crops and contaminated the wells and springs villages depend on for drinking water. Families were displaced with almost nothing.

The loss of a harvest and a water source in the same week removes both the food supply and the safe drinking supply for the months ahead.
This region sits north of where Quenched builds. The pastors there have worked with the team for years and are already assessing needs in their own communities.

Why Quenched is responding

Relief in northern Nepal is being delivered by pastors who already live there. They know which households were hit, what each family lost and where the roads are still passable.

That network took years to build. It exists because Quenched works through the local church rather than around it, and it means help can move within days instead of weeks.

The Nepal team is confirming needs district by district and releasing supplies as funds come in.

What families need first

Clean water and filters

Flooding has contaminated the wells and springs these villages drink from. Filters give a household a safe source while local water systems are repaired.

Clothing and basic supplies

Most households left with only what they were wearing. Blankets, clothing and basic household items are needed immediately.

Every gift to the Nepal Flood Relief Fund is used for flood relief in Nepal.

These gifts are tracked separately from general funds and are exclusively directed towards this work.

Supplies are purchased inside Nepal and carried to families by pastors who live near the affected districts, which keeps cost and delay out of the delivery.

Reports on what was bought and where it went will be published on this page as the team sends them.

Pray for the pastors going in

The pastors carrying these supplies are travelling on damaged roads into districts still recovering. Several of them lost property in the same flood.

Pray for safe travel, for the strength to keep going and for the conversations that open when someone hands a family clean water in the hardest week they have had.

Pray also for the households waiting. Many are living with relatives or in temporary shelter and do not yet know when they can return.

Families are waiting today.

The pastors are ready to move. What decides how many households they reach this week is how quickly the fund is filled.
