An important word about Nepal by Matt MacLean, President & Founder of Quenched
For 11 years, Quenched has built trusted relationships with pastors and partners across Nepal. Today, those relationships give the local church an opportunity to respond.

What happened in northern Nepal
On August 26, catastrophic flash flooding devastated communities across northern Nepal. Homes, roads, bridges and critical infrastructure have been destroyed, leaving families with urgent needs for clean water, food, clothing, shelter and other basic necessities.

Why Quenched is responding
Quenched has served in Nepal for more than 11 years, building trusted relationships with pastors, churches and ministry partners across the country. Today, that network is being mobilized to carry relief into some of the hardest-hit communities.
Our goal is not to work around the local church, but through it.
We are equipping pastors and believers who already know these communities to meet urgent physical needs while demonstrating the love and hope of Jesus.
Our team has already begun responding, including providing clothing for more than 150 women affected by the flooding, along with urgently needed medicines.

What families need first
Clean Water and Water Filters
Flooding contaminated the wells and springs villages drink from. Filters give households a safe source while systems are repaired.
Food & Emergency Supplies
Stored grain and standing crops were lost in the same week. Food packs cover a family while they wait to return home and replant.
Clothing & Basic Necessities
Most households left with only what they were wearing. Clothing and blankets keep a family warm through nights outside their home.
Shelter & Hygiene Supplies
Families are staying in temporary shelter with destroyed housing. Tarps and hygiene kits keep them dry and reduce the risk of disease.
100% of your donation goes to this response
100% of every gift designated to the Nepal Flood Relief Fund will be used for this response in Nepal. These gifts will be tracked separately from Quenched’s general funds and used exclusively for flood relief.
Supplies are purchased inside Nepal and carried to families by pastors who live near the affected districts, which keeps cost and delay out of the delivery.
Reports on what was bought and where it went will be published on this page as the team sends them.

Pray for the pastors going in
The pastors carrying these supplies are travelling on damaged roads into districts still recovering. Several of them lost property in the same flood.
Pray for safe travel, for the strength to keep going and for the conversations that open when someone hands a family clean water in the hardest week they have had.
Pray also for the households waiting. Many are living with relatives or in temporary shelter and do not yet know when they can return.
Families are waiting today.
The more we can raise now, the more families our pastors and partners can reach with urgently needed relief.
